What it involves
Wheel alignment is about setting the angles of your wheels so they point the way they should relative to the vehicle and the road. We use alignment equipment on a lift to check and adjust them.
Wheel balancing is a separate job. It makes sure the weight of each wheel is spread evenly, so it spins smoothly without a vibration you can feel through the steering wheel or the seat.
Why it matters
A vehicle that pulls to one side, a steering wheel that sits off-centre, or a vibration at certain speeds can all be signs that alignment or balance needs attention. Getting it sorted makes driving steadier and more comfortable.
Alignment is also worth checking after other work on steering or suspension parts, because those jobs can change the angles.
